The Mortuary Science and Funeral Service Program is proud to be an approved provider of licensing and continuing education credits of Crematory Operator. we are proud to offer these online courses as a demonstration of our committment to serve our partners and community. 

The SIU Mortuary Science and Funeral Service Program is home to a highly selective program that is just one of six programs in the nation to offer a bachelor’s degree in mortuary science and funeral service. The State of Illinois Comptrollers Office is the approver of our certification. Participants will receive 2.0 credits upon successful completion of the course, extending their license as an operator. 

Cremation License Continuing Education Course 2 Cr. Hr.

This is the 2 Credit Hour continuing education course as required by the State of Illinois. Participants will engage in an online review of basic operator principles and a refresher to their current operator license guidelines. Upon completion, participants will earn the professional study credit of 2.0 hours and receive a certificate of completion.

Target Audience: Funeral Directors, crematory operators, and cremation professionals

Course length: Approximately 2 hours

Cost: $98

Time: Course is self paced and opens at 12noon each Wednesday. In order to participate, register online by 12noon on Tuesday. you will receive an email with login and access info a few hours prior to the start of the course. Participants have 90 days to complete the 2 credit hour program.

Registration

A new course opens each Wednesday at 2pm. Register by Tuesday at 8am (the day prior) to participate in the new course starting on Wednesday.

Register online at the link below or call 618/536-7751 to register by phone. Office hours are M-F, 8am - 4:30pm. Registrants will receive course log-in information before 12noon on Wednesday's that a new course begins.
